1. PROFILE OF THE INSTITUTION.

a). Institutional Infrastructure

In the History of 69 years, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University’s Bar. S.K. Wankhede college of education established on 4th July 1945 which is conducted college of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University Nagpur. The institution spread out in about 32 acres with sufficient availability of well-constructed building. On the basis of infrastructural & instructional facilities available in the campus, the HRD ministry, Government of India has granted the upgradation of the institution by the nomenclature of College of Teacher Education (CTE) from December 2006. The college is possessed the well equipped computer laboratory to conduct the training programme & the practical’s for the trainee & trained teachers approved by the Intel and NCTE New Delhi.
The main academic flair of the institution is that, the library is enriched with the Number of
text books, reference book, journals, periodicals & other extraneous Reading materials with
the accommodation of 35 students in the reading room.Library is automation is in process.

b) .Instructional Facilities

The Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University’s Bar. S.K. Wankhede college of education is nurturing the teacher education programme since 1945. The institution is marching towards to achieve the goals of excellence as the NAAC has put the appreciation note about the Institution in their combined accreditations report of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University in the year 2002. The notable feature of the college is, all the 15 teaching faculty members are well qualified and competent to record a sense of hard work & responsibility discharge towards an achievement of educational goals. In every academic session the 200 trainee teachers (Boys & Girls) are admitted in the B.Ed. curriculum. Presently the institution is serving in education field through different courses (viz. B.Ed. Regular, B.Ed. Indira Gandhi National Open University, M.A.Education.) College is upgraded by Human Resources Development Ministry Government of India New Delhi in the status of College of Teacher Education (CTE) and in-service training programme are conducted under the banner of CTE .The college has also granted the Gyanvani broadcasting centre(106.7 KHz) of Indira Gandhi National Open University in the year 2006. The main academic flair of the institution is that, the library is enriched with the Number of text books, reference book, journals, periodicals & other extraneous Reading materials with the accommodation of 35 students in the reading room. The college is organising the different academic programmes for the trainee Teachers in every academic session. Specifically the institution is attached with The more than 25 practice teaching schools in Nagpur city for the internship programme . Moreover the institution is recognized for an enhancement and Enrichment of education in the vidarbha region.

c). NCTE Recognition:
Rashtrasanta Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University’s Bar. S. K. Wankhede College of Education, Law College Campus, Amravati Road, Nagpur is recognized by NCTE and NCTE Code No. is APW 113045.
 


2. Courses Conducted : The institution Conducting the Reguler B.Ed. course of 200 intake capacity with all 16 methodology subjects. Besids that the institution is conducting the IGNOU B.Ed. programme for teachers with 100 intake and M.A. (Education) programme
